Dig For Fire [and Sometimes Shoes]

[I love how you can see my dog lurking behind the shoes!]
Even though it is still snowy and icy, I've already taken an intrepid step oustside with these heels, and braved the snowy tundra that is Pennsylvania in the winter. Well you know, it's not really as bad as a snowy tundra, but I don't underestimate your intelligence for a second. I was surprised when I tried these on, because they are so comfy and pretty! To be honest, I expected them to look a little like witch-shoes. You can't blame me; I've had terrible luck with Payless in the past. My feet have suffered the worst pain of their lives in the devil shoes Payless sold me! But I stand by the statement 'let bygones be bygones'. Especially when it comes to footwear.

I only bought these because I thought it would be good to invest in a simple pair of black flats. Up until these, I hadn't found a pair that suited me well enough, so I overwore these until the point where there is now a hole in the toe. However, I will always love my holey-toed green flats-we've been through the mud together. And yes, I unfortunately meant that literally. A word to the wise-never try to jump across a "creek" in skinny jeans and flats. You will get muddy.

When I saw an article about jazz shoes in the November[??] issue of Nylon, I made them the object of my shoe affection. It took me a while to find a pair, but luckily Urban Outfitters had my back and started selling some here. A very sneaky trick indeed, hiding them in the sneakers section. If it hadn't been for a case of supreme boredom, I would have never even seen them.

They're a six and a half mens size, and they fit me perfectly. I choose to believe that this was no coincidence, and that the shoe gods[Imelda Marcos??] had these specific shoes waiting there for me at the Good Samaritan. They look perfect with everything except jeans, but I'm really kind of over jeans. If only they weren't so damn comfortable, I wouldn't have any in my closet at all. I'd be fine wearing dresses all the time.
Tell me about your favorite shoes if you feel like it!
I'm off to watch the rest of Growing Pains, which is basically my second favorite show ever [Golden Girls is the first, obviously].
PS:
When I first saw this, I didn't understand why everyone thought it was so funny. Then I realized why; it hit too close to home. [The shoe obsession part, not the the part about being a man in a blonde wig called Kelly] I still think it's the single strangest thing I've ever seen, but it is entertaining, and surprisingly easy to quote.
Labels: Imelda Marcos=shoe god, imma betch slap you shetbag, shoes

I adore your Goodwill shoes. I'd love to find something like that at my local thrift store, but alas, it smells like feet and old elastic, so that is not going to happen.
Oh my god...i wish i had a future-teller mp3 player
that video is so funny
and i love cheap shoes...you made some great picks!
nice selection of shoes. especially the top pair.
My dear friend has a pair of thoes shoes from payless any the look extra cute when laced with ribbon!
I don't know if you noticed but I FINALLY made a post about the MyChem concert last october [I'm so lazy]. I'm going to see them in Houston again in April! Squee!
Maddy-Feet and old elastic? I'm so sorry. Maybe you should march right in there and tell them to get on that asap.
Molly-Amazing isn't it? And thanks! :]
Coco-Thank you!
Hypnotic Romance-!!!!!!!! I was just going to post a 'Have You Seen These Bloggers?' post, no lie. I need your advice on something! I got tickets to see them on April 26 in Charlotte, and now I'm nervous that I'm going to get killed on the floor. Please give me some type of reassurance. [oh, and I've commented on your blog twice but neither of them have showed up? I think it's the comment moderation setting.]
Even though I think the top ones and the ballet flats are pretty cute...I'm just saying I prefer ballet shoes to jazz shoes...I would sort oof feel ridiculous in them! LOL
Floor! Lucky! I was crazy up close at Voodoo, but for the Houston show I have seat tix (danm). You'll be fine.
Tips: Move with the crowd. If they start jumping, jump too, or you'll get hit.
If someone falls, pick them up. (Gee qoute!)
Avoid crowd surfers, you have a high risk of getting kicked in the head. If they pass by you, duck!
Mosh pits are pretty okay, as long as you're alert. However, like I said before, if people start kicking, GET THE HELL OUT!
If you're about to fall, hold on to someone, they shouldn't mind.
If someone is falling and they latch on to you, don't get mad.
Its really annoying when people try to talk to you in the middle of a song, you can't hear them anyway. So don't start yelling silly questions at people while the band is playing (FYI).
Try to make friends. The really great thing about MyChem fans if that they're very united and friendly with each other.
Are you in the MCRmy?
And do you plan to waite after the show and try to meet the boys?
I'm gonna work on fixing the comments thing. I think blogger is being mean to me because I refuse to switch to "New Blogger".
I have to say, you have a very charming collection of shoes. I especially like the white jazz shoes for some reason. Man, you bloggers make my small collection of shoes look bad. Even though I do love my black pointy flats, patent black flat sling backs, and red suede flats.
I love all your shoes! Especially the first pair - I've been searching for a flat pair of oxford dress shoes like that, but to no avail. Payless to the rescue!
-So glad you're posting again, Danielle!
hahaha I have those black flats, I <3 them! And shoes is the best video.. ever.
i do nothing but quote "shoes" and talk about shoes and drool over shoes all the time.
my favorite shoes are six-inch disco platforms with fake goldfish in the clear plastic heels.
of course, i don't want to be arrested so i don't actually wear them unless it's halloween, but they live on a shrine in my room.
my favorite wearable shoes are these fantastic blue flats that my friend stuck colorful stones in shades of blue on. they sound fugly but they're quite adorable.
i love goodwill-type shoes, but whenever i wear them one of my "friends" is bound to say something like "go back to blackbird pond."
they're just jealous, right?
I am completely in love with all of your shoes, especially the ones from Payless. They are darling. Why doesn't Payless in Australia sell shoes like that? I shall have to write an angry letter.
i love the first ones. i also love your blog. check out someoher kelly videos on youtube, they are hilarious!
